MAO Rat Campaign Operation

The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of San Luis headed by Ms. Maria Paz S. Leander organized a massive rat campaign operation conducted through the Barangay Rat Patrol Team. A total of 7 rice producing barangay with 165 farmers’ participated and 261 rats were killed through the use of flame thrower, hand tractor and individual sticks.

This program aims to prevent the spread of this pest which could result complete crop lost of palay harvest this season. Star meat (meat of rat) was prepared as “pulutan” by farmers after the weary hours of operation during the massive Rat campaign.
