Enhancement Training for Barangay Tanods

Around 200 barangay officials and tanods from 18 barangays of the municipality attended the Enhancement Training for Barangay Tanod last February 21, 2009 at the Covered Court, Barangay 02, San Luis, Aurora. The said training aims to develop the skills and knowledge of Barangay Tanods in the areas of peace and order and safety. Topics included during the training were the roles of barangay tanods in local governance, barangay police partnership, rights of person arrested or under custodial investigation, fire protection and basic first aid.

The one-day Enhancement Training for Barangay Tanods were given by the Local Government of San Luis through the initiative of Municipal Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson in coordination with the Department of Interior Local Government, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Army. With this training, Mayor Abel is highly confident that the government’s peace and order and anti-criminality initiatives will be given a boost with the Barangay Tanods learning new concepts, techniques and ideas in the field of peace and order and crime fighting and applying the same in their respective barangaqys.
