Capital Assistance to SEA-K Associations

In line with the implementation of Pro-Poor Programs, the Municipality of San Luis in coordination with DSWD, Regional Office III is actively organizing SEA-Kaunlaran Associations in all the 18 barangays targeting the most vulnerable sectors of women and families for their livelihood capital assistance. For the past 5 months since December 2008, a total of ten (10) SEA-K Associations with 272 members were given capital assistance amounting to one million pesos by DSWD Region III and the Municipality of San Luis, Aurora.

No less than Dr. Minda B. Brigoli, CSEE, DSWD Regional Director together with Ms. Mely S. Pangilinan, Operations Division Chief personally awarded the P150,000.00 capital assistance to Masikap SEA-K Association at Brgy. San Isidro, San Luis, Aurora together with our Municipal Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson and the MSWD Staff of San Luis, Aurora.

Likewise, the SEA-K Associations serve as a venue for advocacy on reproductive health, nutrition, responsible parenthood and other related issues and concerns affecting women and family. SEA-K members are also required to undertake community work at least one day a week such as in maintaining the cleanliness and beautification of their puroks.
