SK Leadership Enhancement Seminar

The SK Leadership Enhancement Seminar-Workshop was held last May 19-23, 2009 at Brentwood Hotel, Baguio City. Participated by one hundred seven (107) Sangguniang Kabataan Officials from eighteen (18) barangays of the municipality, it aimed to strengthen the capabilities of SK Officials in order to boost their participation in good governance and become true and principled leaders of a democratic society.

The Seminar-Workshop formally opened on May 9, 2009 with the guidance of messages from Sangguniang Bayan Members Hon. Kiko Maliwanag, Hon. Minda Querijero, Hon. Menelio Marzan and Hon. Jason Martinez. Participants underwent several lectures and workshops such as Team Building/ Group Dynamics guided by Mr. Hilario Marco, SK Leadership, Qualities and Attributes, Values Formation and Moral Recovery given by Pastor Robert A. Dadero while Reverend Father Alexander Sorongon shared the true meaning of leadership and its level. LGOO V Raul Leander of DILG Provincial Office and Atty. Jesus Duque IV, OIC – Assistant Director of Legal Services both discussed SK Constitution and By Laws including essential provisions of the Local Government Code with emphasis on Barangay Government and local legislation.

The SK Leadership Enhancement Seminar Workshop was spearheaded by the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation lead by SK Municipal Federation President Hon. Jennifer Marie Yngente, with the support of the Local Government Unit of San Luis represented by Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson and in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government represented by the Regional Director of Region III, Dir. Renato L. Brion. It was facilitated by MLGOO Vida A. Donato together with the secretariat and resource persons.
