Katatandaan, Dangal ng Bayan Noon at Ngayon

More than 300 Senior Citizens from 14 organized elderly associations attended the Elderly Month Celebration last October 5, 2009. Held at the San Luis Sports Complex, the celebration has the theme “Katatandaan, Dangal ng Bayan Noon at Ngayon”.

First part of the celebration was a short program where Mr. Jaime D. Bautista – President of the Elderly Federation of San Luis, Miss Buenaflor DT. Dukha – OSCA Chairperson and Mrs. Hiyasmin S. Mendoza – MSWDO talked on the importance of joining the elderly associations, support of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) in the welfare and benefits of elders and the role it plays in cooperation with the LGU for a more organized, active and empowered senior citizens in the municipality.

Our energetic and dedicated Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson inspired the elders by giving P150, 000 for the “Healthy Ageing for Senior Citizens Program”.

The second part of the celebration was the usual dancing and group presentations.
Before the night ended, Mayor Abel also gave prizes for the largest delegation, earliest delegation and best group presentations.
