<p>The most awaited Paskuhang Bayan was finally held last January 8, 2009 at the San Luis Municipal Plaza as a culminating activity of the Paskuhan sa San Luis. Now that the joyous, festive and busy schedule of the Christmas season has ended, we could now wrap up the series of activities as part of the Paskuhan sa San Luis.</p>
<p>The Ceremonial Lighting and Blessing of Municipal Christmas Tree at the Municipal Plaza led by Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson officially started the Holiday Season in the municipality.<span id="more-426"></span></p>
<p>The Day Care Children of San Luis enjoyed their Christmas parties which were held on December 8, 9 and 10, 2009 in their respective Day Care Centers in the barangays and attended also by their parents. Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson attended each occasions and gave candies and chocolates to a total of 1,000 children in 25 Day Care Centers.  The said activities were organized by their respective Day Care Health Workers and staff of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Mrs. Hiyasmin S. Mendoza.</p>

<p>The Barangay Health Workers Municipal Federation of San Luis, Aurora held its Christmas Party last December 11, 2009 at the Covered Court of Barangay 2 Poblacion. The affair was attended by Hon. Annabelle C. Tangson, Hon. Jason Martinez, Hon.Norminda Querijero, Dra.Corazon Teh, Dr.Victorino Hernandez, Mrs.Marietta Porquerino, Barangay captains of different barangays, the MHO staff headed by the Municipal Health Officer Dra. Pura V. Uy, and all Barangay Health Workers, among others. During the affair, there was a group presentation contest won by Barangay Health Workers of Barangay Bacong. There was also a Search for Ms. Barangay Health Worker wherein Mrs. Arlene Gutierrez of Barangay Nonong won. The highlight of the affair was the distribution of Barangay Health Workers honorarium and awarding of loyalty awards to those Barangay Health Workers who has been of service for 10 years and more.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the senior citizens had their Christmas Party on December 16, at the Municipal Plaza and attended by more than 500 elders coming from the 13 lowland barangays and 15 Senior Citizens Associations. Our very energetic Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson raffled grocery gifts and gave P100.00 cash for each elder. </p>

<p>The Day Care Workers together with the MSWDO Staff held their Christmas party last December 17, 2009. A showdown in dancing and singing competition was made amidst the laughter and joyous participation of everybody. Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson gave prizes and announced the P2,000.00 CNA Bonus for all the DCWs.  </p>
<p>Finally, the Paskuhang Bayan was held last January 8, 2009 at the Municipal Plaza.  Despite the rain, it was attended by thousands of people.  Highlight of the event is the performance of the different offices of the Municipality of San Luis and raffle draw of various prizes including a flat screen colored TV, washing machine, electric fan and many more .</p>

<p>Another 150 families coming from Barangay Dibut, Diteki, Ditumabo and Real were given food assistance<span id="more-423"></span>  last December 4, 2009 sponsored by the joint efforts of World Food Programme, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Community and Family Services International (CFSI).   The food commodities include 25 kilos rice, 5 pieces big sardines and 2 kilos high energy biscuits for each family. </p>
<p>Miss Corazon Virrey, SWADT Coordinator of Aurora Province witnessed the activity as representative of DSWD Region 3.  The said assistance was made possible thru the efforts of our energetic and ever supportive Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson and assisted by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of San Luis, Aurora.  </p>

<p>A total of 12 SEA-Kaunlaran Association with 185 members from the 7 barangay <span id="more-418"></span>of Diteki, Ditumabo, Nonong Sr., Real, L. Pimentel, San Isidro and Zarah received their “Cash for Work” incentives last December 7-8,2009 involving a total amount of P300,000.00. The said program motivates the women thru SEA-K Associations to participate actively in the cleanliness and beautification efforts in their community by scheduling a one day per week in cleaning and planting flowers along their Barangay roads.</p>

<p>Such program was conceptualized by our very supportive Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson as her positive response for the efforts and the capabilities of the woman of San Luis in taking the leads towards a more participative and mobilized citizenry. The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Mrs. Hiyasmin S. Mendoza is the local agency organizing the SEA-K Associations of San Luis.<br />

<p>The induction of Bayanihan Security System Officers (BSSO) of Barangay San Isidro <span id="more-408"></span>was held last November 28, 2009 with our very own Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson was the inducting officer.</p>
<p>Bayanihan Security System Officers was organized by the 48th IB of the Philippine Army to strengthen their partnership with the community in maintaining peace and order as well as establishing good relationship.<br />
Each of the four purok of the Barangay has its own officers.  The BSSO presidents are Mr. Ilumina D. Glemao for Purok I, Ms. Anamarie C. Natividad for Purok II, Ms. Julita S. Salvador for Purok III and Mr. Juanito V. Miana Jr. for Purok IV.</p>

<p>The First Asia Pacific Business Partnership Conference was held last November <span id="more-401"></span>12 to 14, 2009 at the Fiesta Resort Guam, Tumon, Guam with the theme “Linking the Possibilities…”</p>

<p>The Conference was participated in by the Philippines International Sisterhood and Twinning Association (PHISTA), Association of Pacific Island Local Governments (APILG) members, as well as potential partners, who wish to promote international exchange and cooperation in the areas of trade and investment. Members of partner organizations such as, the Korea Local Authorities Foundation for International Relations (KLAFIR) and the Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) also present in the said conference.</p>

<p>The conference objective is to promote and sustain friendship, goodwill and understanding among participating local authorities, including non-governmental and business organizations, with interest to have sister city or twinning projects, towards exploring possible partnerships in the area of trade and investment.   It is also to provide a venue for showcasing existing initiatives, projects, achievements and experiences on international exchange and cooperation, particularly in the area of trade and investment.</p>
<p>During the 3 day conference, there were opening of trade fair and exhibits, welcome reception with cultural presentations as well as sessions on exploring opportunities for business partnerships.  The Dimalangat Art Group from the Province of Aurora represented by Noli Guererro participated in the said exhibit. <p>During her address, Mayor Abel recognizes the fact that through PHISTA and APILG, Guam and Philippines made a pact to merge both strengths and resources with the end in view of improving the lives of our people.  And though there are strengths and weaknesses, she also said that the real potentials and opportunities beyond border unless we take advantage of this rare opportunity to discover each other and know more about each other better.</p>
<p>The First Asia Pacific Business Partnership Conference was organized by the Philippines International Sisterhood and Twinning Association (PHISTA) headed by Mayor Annabelle C. <p>A Grand Assembly Meeting “Dialogue with the Community” organized by the 48th IB <span id="more-397"></span>of the Philippine Army was held at Barangay San Isidro last November 28, 2009.  Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson is the guest of honor.</p>
<p>During the assembly, Mayor Tangson discussed about the importance of dialogue and consultation.  She also emphasized that the community will be peaceful and progressive if the people are consulted and be given the opportunity to communicate their sentiments.</p>

<p>The representatives of the different Departments of the Municipality were given a chance to speak about issues with regards to their respective offices.  Mrs. Nelda Iporac, Midwife I discussed different health programs such as Philhealth, vaccination, cleanliness, sanitation, supplemental feeding and other health matters.  Mrs. Violeta Mingua, Social Worker talks about social welfare and development programs such as emergency assistance, day care service and livelihood assistance while Mr. Edgardo Dukha of the Civil Registrar Office discussed different matters pertaining civil registration.</p>
<p>Also present during the dialogue were Vice Mayor Teddy A. Macatiag, Sangguniang Bayan Members Francisco Maliwanag and Norminda Querijero, Barangay Captain Ritchel M. Caballes, Lt. Jerson Igloria ajnd Lt. Arnel Agustin from Philippine Army.</p>
<p>An open forum followed after the program where the people from San Isidro were given the opportunity to discuss different issues concerning the barangay as well as the municipality.</p>

<p>The Ceremonial Lighting and Blessing of Municipal Christmas Tree<span id="more-393"></span>led by Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson last Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in line with the Immaculate Conception Day Celebration.</p>
<p>Rev. Fr. Nilvon Co Villanueva, Parish Administrator of San Luis Rey Parish led the blessing rites.  Mrs. Veneranda C. Marzan, Task Force Golden Jubilee Chairman also gave the introductory remarks.</p>

<p>The Christmas tree located in front of the Municipal Plaza serves as a one of the eye catching Christmas icons that amazes people of San Luis especially children.  With the height of 28 feet and 6,150 bulbs adorned with colorful ribbons and poinsettia, people would surely take a second glance at this Christmas décor especially during night time.</p>

<p>Also present during the ceremonial lighting were SB Member Francisco C. Maliwanag, SB Member Normina S. Querijero, SB Member Jayson G. Martinez and head of offices of the municipality of San Luis.</p>
<p>With the Christmas tree lit up, there is no stopping Christmas from coming.  The season of love is finally here and there are lots of reasons to smile and be merry.</p>

<p>The induction of Bayanihan Security System Officers (BSSO) of Barangay San Isidro <span id="more-390"></span>was held last November 28, 2009 with our very own Mayor Annabelle C. Tangson as the inducting officer.</p>
<p>Bayanihan Security System Officers was organized by the 48th IB of the Philippine Army to strengthen their partnership with the community in maintaining peace and order as well as establishing good relationship.<br />
Each of the four purok of the Barangay has its own officers.  The BSSO presidents are Mr. Ilumina D. Glemao for Purok I, Ms. Anamarie C. Natividad for Purok II, Ms. Julita S. Salvador for Purok III and Mr. Juanito V. Miana Jr. for Purok IV.</p>
